Advantages

Reduced seam failures during over-dyeing. Fewer repairs after laundering. Superior sewability with fewer thread breaks. Higher productivity. More consistent shades after over-dyeing. Low elongation - excellent loop formation. Makes a tighter seam giving less seam grinning. Not affected by needle heat or pressing. Gets stronger when wet. Can be used for over-dyed garments made of 100% cotton.

Comments

Weaker than polyester threads of equal size. Not as resistant to chemicals used in laundering, etc. Not as resistant to abrasion. Can be attacked by mildew. Not as colorfast as polyester. Does not sew well on many automatic sewing machines.
